Not at all, because in the middle of this Arcadian landscape, young Ewa lives with her mother in a half-finished house. To scrape together the money for its completion, her husband works abroad. Ewa has to cope largely alone with her prickly daughter and young son. Is this what weighs so heavily on her and makes every effort a torment?
With lean, laconic images, the camera follows the young mother at every turn. The scenes seem unspectacular and everyday, but behind Ewa's cool gaze a drama of ancient proportions unfolds. The arthouse drama, full of innuendo and village intrigue, poses questions about morals and values.
Jadowska won the main prize for best film, the Ecumenical Jury Prize and the FIPRESCI Prize at the 2017 FilmFestival Cottbus. Marta Nieradkiewicz was awarded for her role as Ewa.
