From June 15 to 19, the Evia Film Project organized by the Thessaloniki Film Festival will take place for the first time in Greece. The island of Evia was hit by devastating forest fires last summer, which almost completely destroyed the island's nature. To mark this event, the Evia Film Project is focusing on films, green producing workshops, events and panel discussions dedicated to the environment & film.
Our Assistant Program Director Joshua Jádi will be on site from June 15-19 to participate in project presentations and more.
Presented will be 6 films in the development phase, which can hope for the Pitch the Doc Consultation Award worth 4.000€ and the MIDPOINT Institute Consultation Award.
In addition, five works-in-progress will be presented and can hope for the 6,000€ Evia Film Project in Progress Award and the Evia Film Project in Progress Image and Sound Award donated by 119 Marvila Studios.
The Hungarian director György Mór Kárpáti, who has already been a guest at the FFC and whom the FFC met in spring during the visit to the Castorp Film School in Budapest, will present his new project FALLING INTO SILENCE.
Accompanying the Evia Film Project will be concerts and walks on the island as well as WWF-supported lectures sharing experiences of what it means to cope with the already current challenges of climate change.
