The fourth day of the FFC awaits today and there are great programme highlights to discover!
For the second year in a row, the EcoEast series is showing films on ecological topics and sustainability. Aspects such as forestry in the Ukrainian Carpathians (BARTKA) and the melting Tujuksu glaciers in Kazakhstan (VOICE OF THE GLACIER) are the focus of the programme. The documentary film BOTTLEMEN will be screened today at 11 a.m. in the Kammerbühne theatre, examining the work of plastic bottle collectors at the Vinča landfill site just outside Belgrade.

The documentary film RUSSIA VS LAWYERS introduces a team of human rights lawyers in Russia who are taking a stand against the repressive state. The film will be followed by an in-depth discussion with guests. The central question is: What room for manoeuvre is there currently for lawyers in Russia who defend members of the opposition and dissidents?
The section Hits features films that are real box office hits in their countries of production. CARBON (9 p.m. in the Gladhouse) is a biting war satire with absurd comedy, corrupt politicians and plenty of rakia.
There are also great events to visit today. A panel discussion in the Stadthaus at 2 p.m. will focus on the Ukrainian film scene and discuss with filmmakers from Ukraine the possibilities of this under the current difficult conditions. Admission is free, just drop by!
At 8pm there will be another SlowTalk in the Glad House: "Kazakhstan in search of a new identity?" with great guests Yuliya Kim (film producer, Kazakhstan/France), Aisultan Seit (director QASH, Kazakhstan) and Tolganay Talgat (actress, QASH).
And in the evening at 8 pm, the Piano Schulze Boogieband creates a fantastic atmosphere in the Bunte Bahnhof.
Our film guests continue to arrive at the festival centre, for example the director Inga Pylypchuk of the short film HOW FAR IS CLOSE.
