Cottbus goes West: at 25th and 28th January, FilmFestival Cottbus curator Jarosław Godlewski will present the short film program from last year's Cottbus youth film competition at the film festival Max Ophüls Preis in Saarbrücken. The Polish short ADAPTATION, directed by Bartosz Kruhlik, who grew up in the Lubusz region near the Polish-German border, VIKTORIA featuring Anjorka Strechel in the lead role, and STORM CELLS, produced at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg, are part of the program. The mid-length film by Jakob Schmidt was awarded the Best Youth Film by the German-Polish-Czech student jury in 2016. The presentation in Saarbrücken is also supported by the Polish Institute Düsseldorf. The renowned Saarbrücken film festival presents, for the 38th time, young, innovative cinema from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It takes place from 23rd to 29th January. Jarosław Godlewski, who this year takes the curation of the U 18 competition youth film, will join the Saarbrücken festival from 24th to 28th January. information about the program of the film festival Max Ophüls Preis (in German language): http://www.max-ophuels-preis.de/
