THE ERLPRINCE, the current feature film by the Polish director Kuba Czekaj, whose BABY BUMP (photo) was shown in the youth film competition at the FilmFestival Cottbus in 2016, runs in the program of this year's Berlinale. THE ERLPRINCE, like BABY BUMP, is an unusual, innovative coming-of-age film about the endless challenges of puberty - an associative story of growing up: a fifteen-year-old boy between mother and father, between detachment and devotion, anger and love. Meanwhile, father and mother are calling for the boy's attention and putting him under pressure at the same time. The intellectually gifted boy is to become a member of the Physical Society, but wants nothing more than to have a dog. He is supposed to remain a child, but give a lecture in a suit. THE ERLPRINCE was pitched at the East-West co-production market connecting cottbus in 2013. At the Berlinale, it will compete in the 14plus competition of the 40th edition of the "Generation" section, which will take place under the motto "Peril and promise – walking fine lines and life on the road" this year. The 67th Berlinale takes place from the 9th - 19.2.2017.
