The ‘European Work In Progress’ took place for the 6th time in Cologne, parallel to the Film Festival Cologne.
A total of 29 very different projects were presented - from a Dutch zombie film and a Serbian project to a violent scandal in a Christian Orthodox drug detention centre and a Norwegian scout adventure film.
Bernd Buder, FFC programme director, liked the selection: "Very different films, and all audience-friendly with brains. There were four promising films from South East Europe from ‘FFC territory’."
One of them, MADE IN EU, the new work by Bulgarian cult director Stephan Komandarew, won one of the eight prizes.
A special programme supported cooperation between the European and African film industries, with a group of filmmakers, distributors and PR managers from Ethiopia, Kenya and Nigeria in attendance.
