Karpopotnik

Karpotrotter

Matjaž Ivanišin
Slovenia, 2014, 49 Min

Vojvodina, a region of Serbia with a strong multi-ethnic identity, Karpo Godina, one of the veterans of the Yugoslav Black Wave movement and a film classic represent the focal point of this highly poetic documentary film.

Matjaž Ivanišin

The film follows in the footsteps of Karpo Godina's classic short film IMAM JEDNU KUćU/I HAVE A HOUSE, a portrait of the flat hinterlands of Yugoslavia. Matjaž Ivanišin revisits these same places and speaks with the films' protagonists, whilst on a deeper level reflecting on a generation of young filmmakers who searched for new horizons in Tito's Yugoslavia of the seventies and came to the conclusion that “it wasn't the revolution that devoured its children, but vice versa.” WMH
