Born and raised in a religious family Vural fulfils his duties as a father, as well as worthy husband and son. Morality, faith and and an attentiveness to the needs of others are paramount to him. Vural also has secrets however, and a pregnant mistress, actions with which he himself undermines the validity of his moral compass.

Ganador

True to family tradition Vural teaches his son the virtues of a righteous life, especially when the boy lies in school and thieves the change in a shop. When, however, one day Sonay turns up at Vural and his father's photography store to have passport photos taken for a US visa an affair ensues, at the end of which Vural finds himself to have deviated far from the virtuous path he himself has preached. In frosty, precisely-composed imagery the protagonist finds himself caught in an ever deeper vortex of lies and deception that ends in the complete loss of his ethical and moral values. Rather than explore the classic questions of guilt and atonement however director Necip Çağhan Özdemir explores in this, his debut feature-length film, the obsessive idea of upholding our moral standards even when we ourselves no longer adhere to them.
