The poetic documentary portrays a landscape and its inhabitants. In the far east of the Czech Republic right on the border to Poland and Slovakia lies the region Těšínsko, a part of Silesia. The border has not only had a lasting influence on the historical development of the region, but also on the lives of the people there.

Long-time residents reflect on the history of the region, wild village feasts, the dramatic end of the Second World War, the widespread smuggling of alcohol, tobacco and horses, but also the strongly controlled border in the 1980s, which made contacts to neighbours almost impossible. The affiliation to a nationality plays barely a role for the old ones, there were always marriages across the border. From this time almost everything has changed. The young generation has grown up with open borders and can often barely imagine the adventures of the past.

When the film won the Pavel-Koutecký-Prize in 2012 the jury was particularly impressed by the way in which the director accurately described the atmosphere of a slowly forgetting and disappearing. CF
