HANOI – WARSZAWA

HANOI – WARSAW

The young Vietnamese woman Mai Ahn manages to cross the green border into Poland. She pays for her illegal entry into the Schengen Area with her dignity, humiliated and abused as she is by her traffickers. Once in Warsaw she searches in vain for her fiancé at the Vietnamese market before finally finding him in custody with the immigration authorities. There Mai Ahn is faced with a fateful decision, in that to reveal her real identity would mean certain deportation. A powerful parable on the compulsion to self-deception.
