Mladen is a caring father who knows that an operation abroad is the only hope for his son, who has a grave heart disease. But where’s he going to get that kind of money? The family has already resigned when a man turns up and offers Mladen the necessary sum in return for liquidating his rivals. Mladen faces the choice of saving his son and losing his soul, or holding on to his integrity and mourning his son for the rest of his life. The film shows not only the moral dilemma if its main figure but also a society in which the ground is crumbling beneath the middle classes’ feet.
