Solaris in Armenia. At an altitude of 3,500 metres, half-ruined concrete bunkers jut up from Aragaz mountain. Some strange apparatuses, pipes and rusty wires point up to the sky: this place is in direct contact with outer space. After the Soviet Union fell apart, neither money nor interest remained for the study of cosmic rays in what was built as one of the most ambitious space-research projects. A six-strong staff holds the fort at the "High Altitude Scientific Station": forgotten and isolated.

An ode to persistence – even if nobody can be absolutely sure that the rest of the world didn’t perish long ago.
