Sketches on the trials and tribulations of Belarusian university graduates whose studies were made possible with the help of government scholarships: on graduation they are required to work wherever the state should send them, a duty that entails neither postings to places these youngsters dream of, nor the best-paid jobs.

Two years; to be precise that’s 730 days to be spent far not only from familiar surroundings, but also from friends and family. Director Daria Korol accompanies three recent graduates to their new places of work and abode: these are physician Sasha, dance teacher Nastya and geologist Oksana. This highly personal documentary film highlights their expectations, frustrations and aspirations, as well as the opportunities the future holds. An incisive portrayal of Belarusian youths in search of a place in society. MM
